The Southern Barrier Project is the first project of its kind in the world and one of the most unique and complex ventures in the State of Israel and in the world.
The construction of the “barrier” is expressed in the construction of an underground wall to defend against the threat of tunnels in the Gaza envelope.
The project is challenging from an engineering and technological perspective, and was carried out in three sections and included excavation and construction of concrete walls combined with deep slurry walls along the Strip.
The project included the construction of approximately 15 km of slurry walls along the Strip.
